One of the fastest ways of capturing a VIN is by using a barcode scanner. Many vehicles at auction have a plainly visible barcode sticker or label that can be used to quickly enter the VIN into VIN Hunter Pro. Simply select the Barcode option when adding a new vehicle and the barcode interface will appear. Hold the iPhone up to the barcode so that it is within the guidelines (and with sufficient light) and VIN Hunter Pro will scan the barcode and enter the decoded vehicle into it's library.

In developing VIN Hunter Pro we've tried to streamline the process of working with VINs. In the instance a vehicle doesn't have a barcode you can use the custom VIN keyboard to quickly add the vehicle to your library. The customized keyboard is designed to eliminate the non-legal characters in a VIN, such as 'I' or 'Q'. Designed for speed, the custom VIN keyboard is exclusive to VIN Hunter Pro.

Need the standard keyboard? It's available as well. Tip: using the copy and paste feature of the iPhone you can copy a VIN from a web page and paste that VIN into the standard keyboard's entry field. It's a quick way to access VINs from the web.
